- Well it seems like only yesterday since the first issue hit the streets,
- boards, and a whole load of other places too. But now we're getting into
- the full swing of things, with the next issue only 2 weeks away!
-
- Thanks to everyone who has subscribed already, we hope all new readers
- will feel like doing the same! Please feel free to send us comments,
- suggestions, etc, about Digital Disk. We want to keep improving the
- magazine and provide you with things you want to read about but we can
- only get to know about what you want to see if you tell us.
-
- I'll quickly run through our main aims (which appeared in the first
- issue, but I've changed some of them a little bit) :
-
- The aim of all of us at Digital Disk is to give you a fully interactive
- magazine which is both entertaining for all to read and participate in,
- and which is also fun for us to produce.
-
- We aim to give you some of the most informative coverage of the computer
- scene possible. As an issue is released approximately every two weeks
- when we get new software and hardware to review, or news to tell you,
- we'll be able to tell you about it very quickly.
-
- We want you to get the most out of computing, while making it as fun as
- possible. You'll find that none of us in charge of Digital Disk are
- experienced journalists by any means, we just all love computing and just
- as importantly we love writing about it!
-
-
- At the moment there are versions of Digital Disk for Commodore Amiga,
- Atari ST, and IBM PC + compatibles. Plus we plan to cover more computers
- soon too!, including the Acorn Archimedes, and Atari Falcon. This doesn't
- mean that you'll get any less coverage for your machine being a multi-
- format magazine, as currently 50% of our sections are machine dedicated.
- For example, there is a different 'The Technical Touch' column for each
- computer.
-
- The main advantage of being a multi format magazine means bringing you
- more articles, as well as having different points of view on all the
- daily computer happenings. Plus everyone can have a big argument in '68ks
- Computer Slag Board' about which computer is best!!!
-
- A few people were a bit confused about the 'id' thingy. Basically when
- you subscribe you are given a membership user id (id - for short). Always
- quote this id when you correspond with us (ooer), such as when you write
- to 'Dmail', 'Interactive Adventure', etc. That way everyone knows who
- writes what. Feel free to use a code name too (Shadow Arrakis being
- mine).
-
- At this point I'll introduce you the current Digital Disk team (we're
- looking for new contributors all the time!)...
-
- ~~2Digital Disk Launch Editor: Shadow Arrakis (id: cd1am1)
-
- Somehow I've managed to coordinate everything and everyone, I'm still
- waiting for my medal...(!)
-
- ~~2Digital Disk Amiga and PC Co-Editor: Evolution (id: cb1am1)
-
- I'll have to own up for him he isn't the Dance group who recently got
- into the charts with 'Everybody Dance'. But we reckon his music is just
- as good so I'll shut up and carry on with the introduction.
-
- ~~5Digital Disk ST Editor: 68k (id: hs1st1)
-
- Probably named after the 68000 chip and its family, used in Amiga
- computers. Oh yes it also happened to be in the ST computer too (strange
- that)... In keeping with the current trend 68k also happens to be male.
-
- ~~5Digital Disk ST Co-Editor: Paul (id: hp1st1)
-
- Paul, well what can I say about him ? Er, he co-runs Digital Disk ST, yes
- I think that'll do.
-
- The knowledgable amongst you will have you noticed we've lost a member
- (er, yes already...) since the first issue. Actually did we actually
- have a fifth member or were we fibbing ?, or was I slightly, er, 'out of
- it' at the time ??? But anyway a few new members are kind of 'in the
- pipeline' at the moment, just waiting to be set free, because it must be
- jolly crampt in there.
-
- That'll do from me for now me-thinks, just one quick plee from me...
-
- ~~6TELL EVERYONE ABOUT DIGITAL DISK !!!
-
- After all we can only expand and go on to produce greater things when
- more people discover our delights! (er, yes well quite).
